Why special conditions need special lubricant
At high speed, the lubricant is subjected to shear and churning. At high temperature, oxidation and evaporation accelerate. The wrong combination can cause heat rise and rapid lubricant degradation.
Base-oil viscosity matters
A lubricant that is too viscous for very high speed can create excess friction. One that is too light may not provide enough film at load and temperature.
Application engineering first
For high-speed or high-temperature bearings, provide bearing size, speed, temperature and load when requesting a lubricant. Specialty selection should be application-led.
