Temperature changes grease behaviour
Grease performance depends on base oil, thickener and additives. High heat accelerates oxidation and evaporation and can change consistency or oil release.
Speed and heat interact
High-speed bearings create heat through friction and churning. A grease with unsuitable base-oil viscosity or mechanical stability may cause further temperature rise.
Selection factors
Check bearing speed factor, operating temperature, load, relubrication method and surrounding media. High-temperature service often needs a purpose-designed grease rather than a general-purpose product.
